Delete your Sùil account
You can delete your Sùil account and the data associated with it. There are two ways, and the first is faster.
In the app, which takes about a minute
- Open Sùil and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account.
- Read what will happen, type DELETE to confirm, and confirm.
You do not need to contact us and you do not need anybody's permission.
By email, if you cannot sign in
Write to security@arbcura.com from the email address on the account, with the
subject Delete my Sùil account. We will verify the request comes from the
account holder and then do it for you. We respond within 30 days and usually
much sooner.
If you write from a different address we will ask you to confirm ownership another way, because deleting somebody else's account on the strength of an email would be worse than the inconvenience of asking.
Before you go: take your records
When you confirm account deletion, Sùil first prepares and downloads everything in one file: your clients, properties, trees, assessments, reports and appraisals, with links to every photograph. If that download does not finish, the account is not deleted.
Settings also has an Export button so you can take the same copy at any time. Keep the downloaded file somewhere you control before you leave.
What happens immediately
- Your ability to sign in ends, refresh tokens are revoked, and server rules block the account from reading or writing data
- Your profile record is stripped of your name, email address, phone number, company name, reusable professional credentials, and links to your saved signature and profile photo
- Completed assessments keep their assessor attribution during the restore window, because they must remain usable if the account is restored
What is deleted after 30 days
The account stays recoverable for 30 days in case the deletion was a mistake.
Its disabled authentication record keeps the account email during that window
so we can identify a request. Write to security@arbcura.com from that address
and we can restore access and stop the scheduled purge. Profile fields removed
at the start must be entered again. Nothing extends the window.
After 30 days these are removed permanently:
- Your account
- Your saved settings and remaining profile files
- Your clients, and their contact details
- The properties and the trees you recorded
- Your assessments, reports, appraisals, photographs and 3D captures
Administrative audit entries keep the fact and time of an action, but matching account identifiers, recorded email addresses and account-specific details are removed during the final purge. The remaining de-identified entries are kept without a fixed expiry for security and accountability.
Your assessments go with you, and this is the important part
Your completed risk assessments are deleted along with everything else, on the same 30 day schedule. We do not keep a copy.
That is deliberate. Your assessments are your professional work, not ours. Keeping every departed arborist's records would make us the custodian of opinions we did not write and cannot stand behind, and would make us somewhere those records could be demanded from. Neither of those is a service to you.
Keep the export Sùil downloads when you confirm.
A tree risk assessment is an opinion that may have to defend the person who gave it, long after the job ended. If a tree you assessed fails and a claim arrives three years from now, the assessment is the record showing what you observed and what you concluded. If you close your account without keeping a copy, you will not have it, and neither will we.
We would rather say that plainly here than have you discover it at the worst possible moment.
If you would rather we kept them
Write to security@arbcura.com before you close the account and we will
explain what that involves. We keep an archive only for people who have asked us
to, and only on terms agreed with them.
